Aquarium Fish Care Checklist

Daily Tasks:

• Observe fish for any signs of stress or illness
• Ensure all equipment (filters, heaters, lights) is working properly
• Feed fish appropriate amounts (only what they eat in 2–5 minutes)

Weekly Tasks:

• Test water parameters (pH, temperature, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)
• Clean algae from tank walls with an aquarium-safe scrubber
• Perform a 20–30% water change (treat and match temperature)

Every 2–3 Weeks:

• Clean or replace the aquarium filter as needed
• Vacuum the substrate to remove hidden waste and debris

Monthly Maintenance:

• Deep clean decorations and rocks
• Prune dead leaves from live plants
• Wipe down the exterior of the tank and the lid
